About Us

We take pride in our access to the marketplace.

Our experience over 28 years has seen markets from Southern California to Florida and in all stages of residential and community development.  Our network of real estate professionals readily connects to proven experts in most markets and in all real estate asset classes.  We serve real estate challenges from site evaluations and mixed-use asset positioning to lender disposition and expert witness litigation support.  The result of this stance is that Clients know we serve their real property interests with clear, durable access to today’s market place.

Michael J. Dinn, CRE® and President.

After serving eight years as a shipboard Naval Officer, DFM President Michael J. Dinn has devoted his career to national housing and community development with an emphasis on market performance, product positioning and alignment.  He was based 10 years in Southern California with national builders and residential finance firms, then the last 18 years in the Midwest.  Michael founded DFM in 2000 to serve regional Clients in homebuilding, project development and community growth, then was later retained by national Clients to serve more complex initiatives and markets across the country.

During the national market downturn, many financial Clients became the unintended owners of distressed properties while weakened builders and developers faced consolidation.  DFM assembled new market resources and technologies to meet the pace and critical next steps of these market drivers.  Over the last four years, DFM has begun to serve the emerging real capital sources, entrepreneurs and leadership, both private and public, that will bring our new housing markets forward.

Michael was invited in 2003 to the prestigious Counselors of Real Estate®, a widely recognized organization of the finest real property advisors with only 1,100 members nationally.  He has served as their Chapter Chairman in the Cincinnati Metro area and four times with their high-profile CRE® Consulting Corps.  He joined forces in 2008 with Social Compact of Washington DC to craft strategic assessments of metro markets for the impact of foreclosures on neighborhood values, including a Metro prototype for the City of Detroit sponsored by the Ford Foundation.  That year with Social Compact, Michael offered testimony before the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Oversight and Government Reform to address their growing concerns on national home foreclosures.

Michael graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis with a BS in Engineering, and the University of Washington Foster School of Business in Seattle with an MBA in Finance.

Dinn Focused Marketing was recently CVE certified as a Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB).
